People for Bikes – The People for Bikes Community Grant Program supports bicycle infrastructure projects and targeted advocacy initiatives that make it easier and safer for people of all ages and abilities to ride. Bike paths, lanes, trails, bridges, mountain bike facilities, bike parks and pump tracks, BMX facilities, end-of-trip facilities such as bike racks, bike parking, bike repair stations and bike storage. Due date is January 18, 2019.
National Endowment for the Arts – NEA Big Read annually supports approximately 75 dynamic community reading programs, each designed around a single NEA Big Read selection. Organizations selected to participate in NEA Big Read receive a grant, access to online training resources and opportunities, digital resources, and promotional materials designed to support widespread community involvement. Due date is January 24, 2019.
National Endowment for the Arts – Art Works – “Art Works” refers to three things: the works of art themselves, the ways art works on audiences, and the fact that art is work for the artists and arts professionals who make up the field. Art works by enhancing the value of individuals and communities by connecting us to each other and to something greater than ourselves, and by empowering creativity and innovation in our society and economy. Due date is February 14, 2019.
Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque – Community Impact Grants aim to support capacity building efforts at nonprofits in the CFGD service area. Due date is February 24, 2019.
Dubuque Racing Association – The Dubuque Racing Association, Ltd hopes to support a broad range of not-for-profit organizations, which fall into these general categories: education, health and human services, arts, culture, recreation, civic and community development, and the promotion of dog, horse, or other livestock-breeding industries. Grants are typically due in late February. Check the website in January for 2019 information
Yappers Grants – Requests for funding through the YAPPERS grant process should clearly demonstrate how grant funds will: be used to support costs of youth programs and projects; help meet basic human needs, combat violence, provide opportunities for youth and/or raise awareness for issues that local youth are facing; help youth learn and develop necessary life skills; provide opportunities for youth to participate in the execution of the project or program (this may be accomplished through leadership and service activities); specifically address at least one of the Five Promises (Adult Relationships, Safe Environment, Healthy Lifestyle, Effective Education and Work Experience, and Opportunities to Serve/Volunteer). Due date is March 1, 2019.
