What’s the first thing that pops into your head when you think about eating healthier? If you’re like the majority of people in the United States you probably picture a salad. While salads have so many nutritional benefits for your body, often people have a negative view about them.
The salad of yesterday might have been a bowl of iceberg lettuce with a cherry tomato or two and some sad cucumbers. These days, restaurants that feature creative and delicious salads are popping up all over the country. There are chains that feature chopped salads, and others that highlight salads creatively packaged into unusual containers like jars.
Being located in the middle of the country, we haven’t seen many of those chains near us. Hoping to fill that void, Rock Salad opened in 2021 as one of the first virtual kitchens in Dubuque.
