The Red Basket Project Awarded DRA Core Grant

The Red Basket Project has been awarded a $10,000 Dubuque Racing Association Core Grant to help build the organization’s capacity for service. The grant will fund the Red Basket Project’s new headquarters, located at 1169 Iowa St. in Dubuque.

The space will serve as a place for community engagement, volunteering, and product storage. A grand opening celebration will be held from 10 AM to noon on Saturday, January 21.

Established in 2016, The Red Basket Project strives to ensure each period is met with products, especially in cases of personal or financial need.

Over the last six years, the Red Basket Project has managed over 48,000 periods and is on target to manage over 15,000 in 2022. The Red Basket Project has over 17 distribution partners including, Crescent Community Health Center, Dubuque Food Pantry, Dubuque Rescue Mission, Resources Unite, Dubuque Community Schools, and many more.
