Loras’ Vincent Honored As Newman Civic Fellow

Loras College student Faith Vincent (’23) has been selected as a Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact, a Boston-based non-profit organization working to advance the public purposes of higher education. Gardiner is one of 173 students nationally who will make up the organization’s 2022-2023 cohort of Newman Civic Fellows.

Vincent, a native of Saint Anthony, IA, is a peer advisor to a first-year seminar course. Through the fellowship, she will will work to better understand and contribute to educational access and equity by helping to expand peer to peer tutoring and/or mentoring programs.

Dan Mulligan, academic success coordinator, helped to nominate Vincent for the fellowship. He cites her focus on helping other students makes her a deserving recipient of the fellowship.

Through the fellowship, Campus Compact provides the students with various learning and networking opportunities that emphasize personal, professional and civic growth. Each year, Fellows are invited to a national, in-person conference of Newman Civic Fellows and participate in numerous virtual training and networking opportunities. The fellowship also provides fellows with pathways to apply for exclusive scholarship and post-graduate opportunities.
