“Ok, now I get it!” said Michelle Blanchard, Box Office Manager and Marketing Coordinator at The Grand Opera House. “This is a great idea!”
What was first pitched to her by the theater’s Technical Director Tracey Richardson as a way to keep both the space in use and people safely entertained during 2020, Easel Wars is a head-to-head painting competition with game show style challenges levelled at participants by the audience. The event melds together live theater with the visual arts, raising funds while entertaining the crowd both in-house and at home via Facebook livestream.
Set to return to the stage for three rounds on March 10th, 24th, and April 14th at 7:30 PM, this will mark the third year of the fundraiser for the historic theater located in downtown Dubuque.
