Conlon Construction Co., a family-owned business with more than 200 employees, has been a staple in Dubuque’s development since 1922. Look in any direction and you’ll find examples of Conlon’s work – in the city’s hospitals, college and universities, museums, nursing and retail facilities, and more.
Conlon Construction was founded in 1903 by Richard F. Conlon, an innovator who believed in “guts and hard work along with good, sound business practices.” Originally his work centered in Cuba City, WI, and the surrounding area. In 1922, he moved his business and his family to Dubuque. As time passed a second, third, and now fourth generation assumed leadership roles in the company.
