Oktoberfest celebrations are social gatherings where the notion of “the more, the merrier” certainly applies. We are just a few weeks away from Dubuque Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 18, 11 AM- 7 PM at the Q Casino’s Back Waters stage. While beer might garner the bulk of the attention at Oktoberfest celebrations, food is just as big a part of the festivities. Celebrants who want to get a true Oktoberfest experience outside of Munich can try some of this year’s dishes. Come for the fun, food, drinks, music, dancing and entertainment, including the famous stein holding contest and wiener dog races!
New this year will be the waiving of the $5 entrance fee, and instead, they will have a suggested donation to Camp Albrecht Acres, which has been the benefiting charity for all 12 years of the festival. Camp Albrecht Acres was founded in 1975 as a unique environment for people with special needs to enjoy new opportunities and challenges in a safe environment adapted specifically for their needs. From our humble beginnings, camping in tents, Albrecht Acres has blossomed into a 40-acre residential camp serving over 600 campers each summer.
Two large festival tents will be on the grounds so Dubuque Oktoberfest happens rain or shine. (Any local COVID-19 ordinances in effect on the date of the festival will be followed.)
