Embracing the Chaos: Learning to Love the Difficult – Saturday, May 1 @ 10 AM-12 PM
How often do we feel at the mercy of the events of our lives? Does it seem like the chaos is what is running the show? Participants will explore how what we refer to as chaos is really the substance of our spiritual growth. Tom Roberts, a licensed psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist, will lead our workshop. He specializes in hypnotherapy and mindfulness therapy.

Living Cosmology Reflected in Pope Francis – Saturday, May 15 @ 2 PM-3:30 PM
Our living creation story (or living cosmology) reveals the deep-time values of differentiation, interiority, and communion. These universal dynamics provide a comprehensive context from which to reflect on our tradition’s evolving religious consciousness and teachings. Sister Maureen Wild, SC, will facilitate this miniretreat.

When God Was a Bird – Saturday, May 22 @ 10 AM-11 AM
Author and educator Mark Wallace will present a model of God in Christianity as a creaturely, avian being who signals the presence of spirit in everything, human and more-than-human alike. Buried deep within the Christian tradition are startling portrayals of God as the beaked and feathered Holy Spirit—the “animal God.” Wallace will weave together scripture, theology, philosophy, and personal stories of sacred nature to challenge traditional Christianity’s self-definition as an otherworldly religion and reopen the way for a new Earth-loving spirituality grounded in the ancient image of an animal God.
