Dubuque public and private school districts are doing their best to prepare for the upcoming school year amid a pandemic. However, as we have learned thus far, what we know about the virus keeps changing as well as the number of cases and official guidelines. State guidelines were issued July 1, which may necessitate more changes to existing plans.

According to Stan Rheingans, Superintendent of Dubuque Public Schools, “[The Administrative teams] really focus on these Return-to-Learn plans daily, weekly, and they are evolving as we learn.”

As much planning as the districts have done, they are still heading into the unknown. Given that, three plans have been created to accommodate the uncertain times.
