Remedy for Runoff

In the realm of water quality and water management, Nutrient Reduction Strategy (NRS) is a key phrase. The City of Dubuque and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, in a new partnership, commit to decreasing nitrate and phosphate runoff through conservation practices in several Dubuque County watersheds (land areas that channel rainfall and snowmelt to creeks, streams, and rivers, also called a drainage basin, according to NOAA {National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration}). This is a unique partnership, the first like it in the state.
