COVID-19 has created a crisis like few others. As businesses, schools, and other community anchors shut their doors to slow the virus’ spread, Dubuque residents feel the pain of lost income, stressed resources, and uneasiness about their well-being.

To complicate matters, the nonprofits and service providers people rely on are handicapped by a combination of the resulting economic downturn and growing demand for their resources. Just when they are needed most, they are struggling.

At the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, supporting nonprofits is at the core of our work and throughout the pandemic, we are doing everything we can to ensure they remain strong now and for years to come. This includes moving forward on Thursday, May 14 with Great Give Day, our annual, 24-hour online giving event, as well as making grants from the Greater Dubuque Disaster Recovery Fund for vital COVID-19 response.
