Host Your Own Wine Tasting

Wine and spirit tastings are very popular in our area, not only at the tasting rooms of the many wineries, distilleries, and breweries, but with the many events hosted at local restaurants. At the end of this month, Wine Lover’s Weekend will be held in Galena. As wonderful an event as it is, some may be unable to attend due to previous commitments or not having that much spare cash available. But that doesn’t mean you can’t throw your own wine tasting with your best pals, enjoying a great evening while still educating yourselves on wine while sipping each other’s favorites.

Throwing your own wine tasting party may seem a bit daunting, especially if you have never attended one. Sometimes, the mood can be a bit pretentious, with the “wine educator” talking down to you. We have been to plenty of tastings where you shake your head and have choice words for the presenter. Sometimes, you just want to drink the wine you like, palette be damned. So, let’s give up the pretentiousness and make wine tastings easy and fun.
