Founded in 2017, Shimlee takes your photos and prints them on real wood. The wood, made from the shim of the log, is all recycled from the Kendrick Forest Products Sawmill, in Edgewood, Iowa. Shimlee is part of the umbrella company, Kendrick, Inc. who also owns a custom cabinetry shop, Forever Cabinets by Kendrick, a retail interior design destination called The Markket (also the largest showroom for our cabinets) and Kendrick Home, the business-to-business sign manufacturing company (producing similar products to Shimlee).

The Kendrick family, owners of Kendrick, Inc., started the sawmill in 1983 in Edgewood, Iowa and haven’t turned back since. They added the cabinet shop in 2001 and the three businesses of Shimlee, Kendrick Home and The Markket in 2017. As a family-owned company, the Kendrick’s passion for using wood products in an efficient and renewable way, has enabled them to be a driving force in their rural Iowa community.
