Dubuque County Master Gardeners are a service-based volunteer program through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dubuque County. Last year, our 81 Dubuque County Master Gardeners donated 3,738 hours of volunteer service through gardening education and activities to enhance our community.
Are you interested in making a difference as a Master Gardener in your community? ISU Extension and Outreach in Dubuque County will be hosting the Master Gardener Fall Core Training Course. The deadline for the annual enrollment period is Aug. 1.
The 11-week training program will include a combination of hands-on meetings and at-home learning activities. The hands-on meetings will take place at 6 p.m. each Tuesday from Aug. 21 through Oct. 30 at various locations around Dubuque.
In addition to the completion of the core training, prospective Master Gardeners must complete 40 hours of volunteer service between the end of the training course and Dec. 31, 2019. At this point, trainees for the Master Gardener program will achieve Master Gardener Certification. To find out more information please visit Extension.iastate.edu/Dubuque/MGtraining.
