Holy Family Catholic Schools’ second-annual Eagles Give Day has nearly doubled the funds raised by the inaugural event in 2017. Receiving over 350 individual contributions, Holy Family was successful in leveraging an extra $10,000 in pledged challenge grants as well as two $1,500 matching gift pledges for a total of $33,422 raised in a 24-hour period. The celebratory online fundraising event took place during National Catholic Schools Week, from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, to 9:00 a.m. the following morning. During that time, school families, alumni, and supporters of Holy Family Catholic Schools were encouraged to engage with the school system on social media through trivia games, sharing posts, and participating in various giving challenges.
The funds raised by Eagles Give Day are directed toward the Holy Family Annual Fund, which has a goal of $1.25 million each year. The annual fund supports Holy Family’s day-to-day operations including such needs as tuition assistance, building maintenance, professional development, salaries, curriculum investment, and activities programing.
Holy Family’s Director of Institutional Advancement, Kari Nickol, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the many contributors who made the day a success. She was especially grateful to the challenge grant sponsors, including Anderson Weber Toyota and the matching gift hour sponsor Environmental Management Services of Iowa.
