Theisen’s Home • Farm • Auto announces that 223 nonprofits in 23 Theisen’s store communities will receive more than $300,000 in grant awards through the company’s 2017 More for Your Community grants program. The full list of 2017 grant recipients is available online at www.dbqfoundation.org/theisens.
Now in its ninth year, the Theisen’s More for Your Community grant program has given away $1,762,366 to support local nonprofit organizations and the people they serve. Based on estimates in nonprofit grant applications, the grants will impact 590,017 community members.
“With this year’s grants of $309,753, we are simply giving back to our community and the people we serve,” said President Jim Theisen.
The donors who support this grant program, which include Jim and his sons Chris and Tony, take active roles in evaluating each year’s many applications. They also make annual site visits to nonprofit grantees to learn about community needs and to meet the nonprofit leaders serving our children and families.
Dubuque area nonprofits received their grant checks at a More for Your Community grants celebration hosted by the Dubuque Theisen’s store location at 2900 Dodge St. on Tuesday, November 14.
The Theisen’s More for Your Community corporate giving program is a partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD).
Successful grant applications included evidence of project dollars directly reaching children, strong local matches, and opportunities for those served to give back to the community.
