The Dubuque community is about to get healthier in mind, body and spirit. After extensive research, surveys, and focus groups, the Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA is pleased to announce that, community willing, they will be replacing their current building with a new state-of-the-art facility, on the site of our existing building at 35 N. Booth St.
“The Y is more than a place to work out – we are a place of community,” said Sharon Covey, Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA’s President/CEO. “Of course, members will have access to new machines, our basketball court, and swimming pool, but there will be so much more. With a new facility and more space we will continue to align our programming by meeting the needs of the community. New programming will include several Y-USA evidenced-based programs including: Diabetes Prevention Program, Blood Pressure Monitoring Program, Enhanced Fitness (arthritis management), and LiveStrong Program for cancer survivors. We will continue to offer and grow our Reach & Rise® Mentoring and Group Mentoring programs, Restorative Strategies program, Victim Services Shelter, and Camp.”
The Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA will continue to update the community as they enter the various stages of building the new facility. Please visit MyFutureY.org for additional information.
