
After nine years in Dubuque, the Diamond Jo Casino introduces an addition that will indeed complement the experience of visiting patrons. “Synergy and opportunity” collide according to Diamond Jo General Manager Wendy Runde. Earning her associates degree in accounting and developing an expertise in finance, Wendy has twenty-one years of experience in the Gaming industry.
During a two and a half year planning phase, Wendy turned to the Director of Marketing, Marty Maiers, who, in collaboration with the creative services department, launched the concept for The Filament. Marty earned his degree in information technology. He evolved into a numbers conscious data analyst and now incorporates his creativity into strategic marketing. Enjoying his sixth year with Diamond Jo, Marty refers to the opening of The Filament as a “project scope with many moving pieces.” We visited on the second night of the soft opening, with the grand opening on Thursday, August 10.
