The Dubuque Museum of Art (DuMA) has been awarded $10,000 from the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, through its Cultural Leadership Partners program. The Iowa Arts Council’s Cultural Leadership Partners program annually supports 56 arts, cultural, and heritage organizations across Iowa, who were selected for funding through a competitive process. Cultural Leadership Partners demonstrate an exemplary record of programming, managerial excellence and community service on a year-round basis to the citizens of Iowa.
DuMA will invest the Cultural Leadership Partners grant funding in its ongoing education, community outreach and exhibition programs. Last year, the museum served more than 12,000 people through its on and off-site programs.
The Dubuque Museum of Art, founded in 1874 and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums in 2004, is among Iowa’s oldest cultural institutions. Named a national affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution in 2016, DuMA’s mission is to excite, engage, and serve diverse communities within the tri-state area through collections, exhibitions, and educational programs.
