The Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Foundation has received $5,000 from John Deere in order to fund the College’s Industrial Technology Scholarship program.
The industrial technology labor market sector is projected to experience significant growth by 2026, and in response, NICC continues to enhance and identify support for its advanced manufacturing programs. The College is committed to affordable tuition for all students, and it is the NICC Foundation’s goal to support students enrolled in high-growth programs through scholarships in order to bridge any financial gaps.
The new scholarship funding will support students whose programs of study include welding, heating and air conditioning, automotive mechanics, computer numerical control (CNC) technician, and engineering technology.
John Deere focuses its philanthropic and volunteerism efforts on the achievement of higher and sustainable living standards for people everywhere.
The Northeast Iowa Community College Foundation was established in 1981 as an external 501(c)(3) organization and has matched its donors’ passion and investment with NICC student’s needs through scholarships, services, and enhanced programming ever since. The Foundation provides resources to assist NICC students with the education and training they need to create a better life for themselves and their families in addition to providing a skilled workforce for our local communities.
