Two Mercy Nurses Recognized as Great Iowa Nurses

Katie Harris
Mark Zelinskas

Two nurses from Mercy Medical Center – Dubuque are among the 100 Great Iowa Nurses for 2017. The 100 Great Iowa Nurses award recognizes nurses who have made meaningful, lasting contributions to their patients, colleagues, and the nursing profession, and are viewed as mentors to other nursing professionals. The Mercy nurses recognized for 2017 are Katie Harris, AirCare 3; and Mark Zelinskas, cardiovascular unit.

Nurses selected for this honor represent many sectors of health care, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, and physician offices across the state. Nominations are submitted by colleagues, patients, friends, and family members. A committee comprised of members from the Iowa Nurses Association, the Iowa Nurses Foundation, the Iowa Hospital Association, and the University of Iowa College of Nursing select the final recipients.

The 13th annual 100 Great Iowa Nurses celebration will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Des Moines. The 2017 honorees will gather with families, friends, and colleagues to be recognized for their outstanding careers and achievements. For more information, visit www.greatnurses.org.
