The American Advertising Federation of Dubuque recently announced the 2015-16 local advertising competition winners:
Local Gold ADDY Winners (which will compete at the district level) include Gigantic Design Co. (six); Clarke University (two); McCullough Creative (six); Cartegraph (two); Dream Catcher Productions; Luckythirteen Design; and Kt Schramm Design + Photography.
The Top 10 Awards included McCullough Creative (five); Cartegraph (two); Gigantic Design Co. (two); Luckythirteen Design; and Kt Schramm Design + Photography.
The Professional Best of Show was awarded to Cartegraph Experience Team at Cartegraph for “Cartegraph Website.”
AAF Dubuque also presented two honorable awards to members of the advertising community. The AAF Silver Medal Award Program was established to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to the advertising industry. This year, AAF Dubuque awarded Jill Busch, of American Trust. Jill’s expertise and knowledge in several areas of advertising proved to be beneficial in her career along with her nonprofit work, such as eight years as an AAF Board Member.
The advertising organization recognized one of its own with the Member of the Year award. AAF Dubuque board member Natalie Kremer has served many roles for the club since 2012 including Secretary, AAAwards Co-Director, and she is currently the programming co-director.
This year a $500 non-renewable AAF Dubuque Student Scholarship was awarded to Miriam McKee. She attends Loras College, where the Art and Digital Design major was eliminated during her first year. She decided to take graphic design classes at Clarke University and has also taken classes at her area community college to gain further knowledge in photography and art history. She has experienced a broad range of internships, including working for the Sisters of the Presentation, Loras College, McCullough Creative, and Kendall Hunt.
