Recycle Those Old Electronics

Do you have an old TV, computer, VCR, set of holiday lights, vacuum cleaner or small appliance that you no longer use? Electronics and small appliances can be recycled through the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency’s Electronics Recycling Program at 14501 Highway 20 West (DMASWA Landfill). Drop off for these items is between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. No appointment is needed.

The DMASWA does not allow the burial of electronics in the landfill. Therefore, electronics cannot be placed in garbage cans/bags, dumpsters, or roll-off containers destined for landfill disposal.

Electronics recycled through the DMASWA facility are sent to a secure processing facility in Davenport. The costs charged to the Agency by the Davenport contractor for this service are passed back by the Agency to its customers.

Current Electronics Recycling Fees:
$10.00 each for Computer monitors, TVs, and laptop computers. There is no charge for all other electronics and accessories. The fee for recycling monitors, TVs, and laptop computers will be increasing to $15 each as of July 1, 2017.
