The Rotary Club of Dubuque has announced their Humanitarian Grant awards for 2016. Twenty-six applications were received with over $60,000 in requests. Our budget for Humanitarian Grants is $15,000. Awardees will receive grants ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.
Those local organizations selected for funding include: Wisconsin Badger Camp, which provides scholarships to Dubuque residents; Dubuque Museum of Art, to help renovate a classroom; Riverview Center, to provide transportation to victims of sexual assault; St. Stephen’s Food Bank, to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to those in need; Miracle League of Dubuque, to purchase Homer for their mascot; Dubuque Mercy Health Foundation, for the purchase of a safer wheelchair; First Congregational United Church of Christ, to help provide meals to the hungry; Almost Home/St. John’s Lutheran Church, to help renovate a volunteer work area; and to the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, for support of its Children’s Spring Party.
Established in 1915, the Dubuque Club has 180 members and is dedicated to “Service Above Self” across the Dubuque Community and support of Rotary initiatives across the world.
