Radio Dubuque hosted area high school students for the first meeting of the Broadcasting Exploring Program on September 15. From 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. students learned about a career in broadcasting by experiencing it hands-on. The program continues for an additional five weeks, ending on October 20, 2016.
The Broadcasting Exploring program gives students the chance to experience a career in broadcasting. Over the six-week session, the students will be on the air, produce a commercial, gather news stories, and do a play-by-play of a sporting event, in addition to learning about sales and copy writing.
