Mark Fassbinder and Sandra Beisker were recently elected to the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools (FDPS) Board of Directors.
Mark Fassbinder, AIA, is both a registered architect at IIW, P.C., and a Dubuque Community School District (DCSD) parent. A Dubuque native and Hempstead High School graduate, Fassbinder has nearly 18 years of experience working on various local school projects, where he has gotten to know many principals and their schools’ individual needs. He is a member of the Asbury Planning and Zoning Commission, and has served as a parent volunteer at Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School and Hempstead High School.
Sandra Beisker is currently an assistant principal at Hempstead High School with more than 25 years experience working for Dubuque’s public schools. She taught English at Senior High School and Jefferson Middle School, and has also served as gifted and talented facilitator, instructional coach, and student needs facilitator. This fall, Beisker will begin her ninth year as assistant principal at Hempstead. In addition to her work in the Dubuque Community School District, Beisker has also taught as an adjunct professor at both Loras College and the University of Dubuque (UD), and serves on the UD advisory council.
