Laura Giblin, Kate Knepper, and Shannon Faust of Dubuque received a Governor’s Volunteer Award from Governor Terry E. Branstad during a special recognition ceremony held June 28 in Cedar Falls. These three ladies were honored with a group award by St. Mark Youth Enrichment for continually being strong partners with St. Mark.

These teams have given countless hours volunteering on the board, reading to students, providing and participating in field trips, and field experiences. Because of Prudential’s investment, St. Mark is able to see measurable impact on academic and social-emotional growth.

Coordinated by Volunteer Iowa, the Governor’s Volunteer Award program provides an easy way for Iowa nonprofits, charitable organizations, and government entities to honor their volunteers with a prestigious, state-level award. Hundreds of volunteers are recognized each spring during ceremonies held at several locations around the state. More information is available at volunteeriowa.org.
