Dubuque Montessori School Announces Resignation of Director Beth Gilbreath

2016-04-FIB-CatWalker(W)After 23 years of service to the Dubuque Montessori School (DMS), Executive Director Beth Gilbreath has announced her resignation effective June 30, 2016. Ms. Gilbreath has served since 1992, beginning as a teacher.

Following a search and screening process, the DMS Board of Directors has selected assistant director and lead teacher Catherine Walker as its next executive director. Ms. Walker has over nine years of experience teaching in a Montessori environment, including six years at DMS. Walker has bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Russian from Cornell College and has completed the American Montessori Society Teaching Certifications for ages three to 12. Ms. Walker will assume the role of Executive Director on July 1, 2016.

The Dubuque Montessori School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit parent-run organization founded in 1968. Located at 2605 Pennsylvania Ave, DMS features carefully prepared classrooms offering socialization and formal learning experiences for children ages two to six. DMS utilizes the Montessori educational method to provide children with the learning tools needed to build a solid foundation for future growth, development, and success.
