American Red Cross Honored Everyday Heroes of Northeast Iowa

On March 17, the American Red Cross of Northeast Iowa, along with corporate sponsors Dupaco Community Credit Union, Holiday Inn Dubuque, KWWL, and Radio Dubuque stations (KAT-FM, KDTH, 97.3 The Rock and The River), honored local heroes at Everyday Heroes of Northeast Iowa, 2016.

This unique program celebrated local people who demonstrated courage, compassion, and unselfish character performing extraordinary acts of heroism in the eyes of their neighbors and community, sometimes saving lives. The event will also celebrate 100 years of Red Cross service in Iowa.

Everyday Heroes are nominated by their peers to be recognized for going above and beyond in service to others. These outstanding individuals have demonstrated courage, compassion and unselfish character, performing extraordinary acts of heroism in the eyes of their neighbors and community. The 2016 Everyday Heroes include: Mary Bissell, Toni Boardman, Mike Hefel, Martin Hefel, Jeff Troester, Jodi Ehlers, Michael Breitbach, Chuck Haas, Ashley Melchert, Joe Connelly, John Schmitt, Betty Byers and Ryne Emler, Bob Felderman, Judy Faulhaber, Jeni VanBuer, Sister Martha Luedtke, Cheryl Neyens, Darlene Seidel, Derrick England, and Jim Wagner.

Everyday Heroes are nominated by their peers to be recognized for going above and beyond in service to others.
