Vision Iowa was created to assist projects that will provide recreational, cultural, entertainment and educational attractions. Projects must be available to the general public for public use and be primarily vertical infrastructure. These attractions position a community to take advantage of economic development opportunities in tourism and strengthen a community’s competitiveness as a place to work and live.
The next deadline for the Vision Iowa, Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grant program is October 15, 2015. The CAT Board prefers projects to be 80% (or rapidly approaching 80%) funded by time of grant submittal. Required financial support includes City and County contributions.
The above picture shows the ribbon cutting and dedication of the Dubuque County Library – Asbury Branch and Community Services Campus last month. The library portion of the entire project received a CAT grant for $300,000 in 2014. Total cost of the Library project was $1.6 million.
