The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium received a grant from the Dubuque Racing Association in the amount of $20,000 to introduce a new educational outreach vehicle. The outreach vehicle will enhance the Museum & Aquarium’s ability to take informational learning outside the organization and instill it into the community. This vehicle will offer schools, families, and the general public the opportunity to engage with sea life as it pertains to the Mississippi River Delta and Gulf of Mexico.
In other news, the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium and its national outreach program Riverworks Discovery have launched two new websites to encourage exploration and provide an enhanced visitor experience.
Supported, in part, through a grant from Travel Iowa, the new Museum & Aquarium website features a mobile-first design and more robust content and imagery for exhibits, historical information, and animals within the institution’s care. One of the website’s key features is a streamlined plan-your-visit-page with movie information, ticketing and pricing, featured exhibits, and upcoming events in one place.
The associated RiverWorks Discovery website provides information for youth exploring river-related career opportunities and educators seeking educational river programs. Both websites were designed by Speak Creative. To view the two new websites, visit RiverMuseum.com and RiverworksDiscovery.org.
