Recipients of the 2018 Molony Foundation scholarships are: Hannah Lueck and Caitlin Kennedy, Beckman Catholic High School; Zoe Ryan, Cascade High School; and Kathryn Doyle, Western Dubuque High School.
Lueck and Kennedy were awarded the Foundation’s Nursing Scholarships in May. The Molony Foundation Nursing Scholarships were established in 2015 to support local students interested in pursuing a nursing career.
Lueck and Kennedy each received a $2,500 scholarship to use at a two-year or four-year college for tuition or tuition related expenses such as books.
Doyle and Ryan were awarded the Foundation’s Josie (Molony) & Ray Feeney Scholarship. The Scholarships were established in 2015 to support local 4-H members to advance into post-high school education at a recognized two-year or four-year college or university.
Doyle and Ryan each received a $1,000 scholarship to use at a two-year of four-year College for tuition, or tuition related expenses such as books.
The Foundation was created by Kay, Don, and Jim Molony, successful farmers from Bernard who worked hard, lived modestly, and believed in giving back. Scholarship winners have demonstrated the Molony’s defining characteristics in their lives – kindness, compassion, and ambition.
