The other day I was asked about collecting wine. The person wanted to know how to get started, what wines to collect, and how important having a wine cellar really was. The process of collecting wine usually takes one of two directions; one being that you want to have a nice sampling of wine on hand to be prepared for guests when they drop by or to be able to give the right gift when being invited for dinner. The other, collecting is more of an investment where you (usually) purchase wine by the case and, in some instances, sell when the wine appreciates in value. This article will speak to the former.
