Dubuque’s Bee Branch Watershed encompasses historic neighborhoods offering some of the community’s most affordable workforce housing. It is also the area hit hardest by flash flooding.

Following significant storms in July 2011, the City of Dubuque received reports of damage to more than 200 homes in the Bee Branch Creek area. While the City is taking proactive measures to mitigate flash flooding, investments in infrastructure alone will not address the unmet needs of those living with residual issues from flooding such as damaged foundations, electrical hazards, and chronic mold and mildew problems.
