Loras College, a four-year Catholic liberal arts college in Dubuque, and its Women’s Leadership Alliance announce the first recipient of the Women’s Leadership Alliance Scholarship established in October 2017.

Michaela Dohleman, a senior at Loras from Pontiac, IL, received $1,200 to go toward her education at Loras. The College offers a wide variety of scholarships and awards with 100 percent of all incoming students receiving institutional aid.

Scholarship funds are awarded annually to full-time, undergraduate female Loras students who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to junior or senior students exemplifying both leadership and service on and off campus. Students are considered through an application process that includes a reference from a Loras faculty or staff member, and are selected by a committee of the Loras Women’s Alliance. The application process for fall 2018 began in February.
