Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts Welcomes New Director

Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts is proud to announce the addition of Sara Lomasz Flesch as director. Flesch succeeds Megan Kulick, who has led the organization since 2014.

Flesch brings years of experience in nonprofit management and communications to her new position. Most recently she has worked in senior management roles supporting the historic preservation and public education programming at Taliesin Preservation, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and the School of Architecture at Taliesin in Spring Green. Her background in journalism and current role as editor and publisher of the Voice of the River Valley arts and culture magazine will be useful in expanding Shake Rag’s growing reputation as a strong, vibrant art school.

A nonprofit school of arts and crafts founded in 2004 by local artists and community members, Shake Rag Alley’s 2.5-acre campus at 18 Shake Rag St. in Mineral Point is a national destination for participants of more than 200 adult workshops, a robust summer children’s program and a host of annual special events including the Winter Writers Series, a partnership with the Council for Wisconsin Writers, Wisconsin People & Ideas, and the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Commission through the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letter. In addition, Shake Rag offers on-site lodging and custom facility rentals for meetings, events and celebrations.
