Ring in the holidays with the joyous sounds and sights of the season! The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (DSO) presents sparkling musical arrangements of cherished holiday tunes at its annual Holiday Concerts, December 2 & 3, 2017 at Five Flags Theater.

“These concerts are always a lot of fun, and they present a wide range of holiday music that really captures the spirit of this magical time of year,” says Maestro Intriligator. “We will present music that is traditional and well-known, as well as a few pieces that are newer. I’m very excited to welcome back soprano Jillian Slade as our soloist. We featured her about 12 years ago in ‘Pie Jesu,’ when Jillian was still in school, growing up here in Dubuque. Jillian is now living and performing in New York. She’s an amazing multi-faceted musician with a gorgeous voice.”

Maestro Intriligator continues, “I also want to give special attention to our friends in the Dubuque Chorale and the Dubuque Chorale Children’s Chorus. Their voices and joyful spirit really make these concerts special every year. You can’t help leaving these concerts with a big smile on your face.”

The DSO offers a Holiday Family Concert on Saturday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m., approximately one hour in length with no intermission – perfect for families with young children. This special performance features a program of lively holiday music, sing-along songs, and guest appearances including members of the Heartland Ballet Company, vocalist Jillian Slade, and the Dubuque Chorale Children’s Choir. Children are invited to get their picture taken with Santa for free immediately following the concert. Tickets to the Family Concert are $11 for children 12 and under, $21 for adults and $31 for box seats.

Full Holiday Concerts on Saturday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. feature the Dubuque Chorale, members of the Heartland Ballet Company, and vocalist Jillian Slade. Tickets to the full concerts range $17 – $76.
