Dupaco Community Credit Union is asking for the public’s support by way of online votes in their effort to win $15,000 towards the Steeple Square revitalization project in Dubuque’s historic Washington Neighborhood.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines) selected the Steeple Square project as one of seven finalists competing for the Strong Communities Award, which honors projects, people and programs that promote small business growth and retention in communities.
Voting for the Strong Communities Award takes place at www.fhlbdm.com/award. The voting website opens at 8:00 a.m. CT on Monday, September 18 and closes at 10:00 p.m. CT Friday, September 22.
Participation in voting is free; there are no requirements or registration needed; and voters can cast up to one ballot each day during the voting period.
Along with other community partners, Dupaco Community Credit Union – a FHLB Des Moines member financial institution – leads the effort to revitalize Dubuque’s former St. Mary’s Catholic Church campus, transforming it into Steeple Square. The campus will provide a vibrant hub for events, arts and culture, education, and outreach programs, affordable housing, and childcare in downtown Dubuque.
