August is here, and the summer sun and warm temperatures have done their job. Our gardens are exploding with goodies, from tomatoes to cucumbers, peppers and beans, are all producing like crazy. Too often, we cannot utilize everything growing in our gardens, as one can only eat so many tomatoes in a day. As our gardens go into their mass production stage, we end up giving tomatoes and cucumbers away. But why give all your goodies away when you can process them, or can them for later, when a fresh tomato or cucumber is nowhere in sight? And you just cannot beat homemade pickles.
